Hello, I’m George, I am very happy to share my favorite passion with you, weather instruments and weather information gathering.
George Loves Weather became my choice for a website because I love the weather. I guess that kind of sounds plain and corny but that is me. I grew up on a farm in Western New York State.
Yes, Upstate NY where we are famous for potatoes, dairy farms, small towns and gloomy weather, snowy winters, and 4 seasons.
Yes as I have learned over the years not all places where I have lived have weather as diverse as what we experience in Western NY.
So as I said earlier I grew up on a dairy farm, where one of the first things I noticed was the weather. I noticed how it greatly affected a farmer’s life.
I watched my dad, day in and day out be torn as to whether the weather that day was going to allow him to get the necessary work done.
I also noticed how in tune with the sky and weather conditions he was and had to be to keep the farm running.
As I grew up, I developed not only an in-depth knowledge of weather but a true appreciation and respect for the weather. I had to you see, I worked my way through college by running my lawn and cemetery care service. I had to learn to work around the weather daily.
Weather does affect all of our lives and I became pretty good at reading the weather, the clouds, and the forecasts as well.
So as a lover of weather I wanted to put together, a place to check out the latest advances in weather equipment.
This is done by having a personal weather station. They can be great for tracking and fun to use and record local weather patterns
I also find that we need to teach young folks about the weather. The best way is to have them involved in using weather instruments and having them through hands-on experience learn to observe and understand the world we live in each day.
